I've had a lot of feedback from my previous post about the MalwareDiariesList project.
Well, I'm glad so many people are passionate about it but some comments kind of got me going a little ;-) Such as this one: Bullsh**.. why ? simply any collected url is in my opinion public domain. we @ netpilot dedicate bandwidth, storage and man power to consolidate these data, so we expect from your company to assist us by feeding your url's to our database. gerhard Oh boy! You know gerhard, if you had asked nicely, I would probably have given you access. But now, don't you expect anything. My plan is to give access to all reputable people who are in the security field. The reason I do not want it public is the same as using password protection when exchanging malware. A lot of people don't know what they're doing and would just infect themselves. Other people would leverage that information to infect others (I don't want it to fall into the wrong hands). Collecting this data is work and in some ways our competitive advantage over other companies (we are not a charitable organisation). I thought sharing it for free was already good enough, but no, *some folks are not happy. I like nice people. I don't like people who swear. I don't have time for haters. Have a nice day :-) Jerome Segura |

Hi Jerome,
sorry if i had treated you in a someone rough way... 1) it was late in Germany 2) I had been slightly angry about your wording in your original post. 3) i'm nor a hater, or similar .... but 1) we are too not a charity organization 2) parts of our work will be public without any restrictions so the main thing is to hide Url's and not giving them to researches and consolidators in this business is not a really good idea, on the other hand you in turn use hphost, malwareurl, malwaredomainlist and probably clean-mx. so please do not shut a door, think about this invitation. -- gerhard btw. why is my comment not visible, only your quoted one ? |

gerhard:
Your previous comment was posted (there is no censorship on this blog) http://forums.paretologic.com/showthread.php?t=13999 Yes, I was in Germany too last week end... And I was jet-lagged coming home as well, although I don't use this as an excuse. So, me saying "I plan on restricting the access" made you angry? Hmm.... Again, our partners and researchers can get access... so what is there to be upset about?? "so please do not shut a door, think about this invitation." Ah, an invitation now? Earlier it sounded more like a demand ("we expect") We shall see gerhard.... hopefully I can control my anger back to normal. |

Hey, thanks Steve. Living in Canada I almost forgot about it!! lol
Back in France, Saints day are very respected. As a matter of fact, in some restaurants you get a free dessert on your St Day. ![]() Jerome |
